       When the IRS is properly FUNDED, it works. The IRS collects revenue to make the USG function. Republicans purposefully underfunded the agency for years so their wealthy donors could underpay: (legal & illegal) methods. Dems must ensure that the IRS has the funding & manpower so they can go after TAX CHEATS, so honest Americans pay only their fair share.        @phoccer @jeff The IRS has finally been funded by the Biden admin, although Republicans in the House were able to take a small amount away in the debt deal. I cited the article as a victory for them. The IRS has a long way to go, as a prior dysfunctional agency, but I appreciate that the IRS is in a much better place than under the corrupt TFG admin. And there's finally a new commissioner: Danny Werfel serves as the 50th Commissioner of the IRS. He was appointed on May 10, 2023.
