@Minty @Paulyfrog64 you don't trust something that's just made out of only carbon fiber, has it's lid glued on, is controlled by a wireless controller and lit with camping lights?Ironically the most credible part of the plastic can on the right is that you could apparently physically shake off the ballast by moving around inside the submarine. Nice feature if the sub lost power....or the controller just didn't work.

They likely heard the hull begin to tear itself apart and, according to James Cameron, they dropped ballast in an attempt to rise towards the surface and thus lessen the pressure.However, once it did implode, they would be smushed in a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of a second. I believe it is literally faster than signals can travel through neurons -- so it isn't merely "very fast", it is that they physically would not have time to even receive the input that something had occurred.
