       The thing I will never stop hating about algorithmic social media is that when a flame war breaks out in comments, the post reaches way more people. It incentivizes discord.

       @grammargirl Mastodon vs big tech social media is like NPR vs commercial radio. Like NPR, Mastodon servers are user supported so there isn't the incentive to promote controversial crap to generate clicks to sell advertising. It shows in the product
