@hemish exit() shouldn't be used outside the interactive shell as it'll ask for confirmation. sys.exit() will just exit the program.@Graycot

@Graycot I was going to make a joke about being in favour of the death of PHP but there are other languages on there that I'd happily see go first.

@thegreatgonzo Honestly, out of all 4, PHP would be the last one I'd want to see die.- C++: Getting obsolete.- Java: Outright moronic.- Python: Should never have existed.- PHP: Acceptable but a bit iffy at times.@Graycot

@finlaydag33kSee I would happily see Java and Python go but currently C++ would be what I would expect to use in there place for stuff like microcontrollers, wearables etc. There are a billion things to use instead of PHP (I personally have moved most of my webdev to NodeJS) @Graycot

@thegreatgonzoFair, though with the major movement towards Rust over C++ for a lot of things, I think C++ has slowly had its time.@Graycot

@finlaydag33kWhen rust for the RP2040 has stable wifi support I might actually have my usecase for learning it ;-> @Graycot

@thegreatgonzo The RP2040 doesn't even have WiFi, so kinda hard getting something stable that doesn't exist :pIf you mean the Pico W, that uses an Infineon CYW43439 for the wifi. You can use Embassy for that which works fine for my setup (the Pico W in my car's engine metrics and diagnostics system)@Graycot

@finlaydag33k I feel you somehow knew what I meant, given the pico w is an RP2040 based board. As I n00b I was following the rp2040 HAL + rp-pico-w and waiting for the "work in progress" tag to come off, the wireless support before I think about moving from micropython. If you wanted to give different advice that is finehttps://github.com/jannic/rp-hal/tree/pico-w

@finlaydag33k @Graycot but i have used exit() outside the interactive shell, and it works without any confirmation

@hemish Apparently, the "ask" part is just a thingy with my terminal. But according to the docs, exit() requires the "site" module which may not always be there vs sys.exit() which will always be there.@Graycot

@thegreatgonzo Yea, the first part was just a bit of goofing around :pAs for that repo, it's indeed more specifically aimed at the RP2040 where Embassy aims to be a more "general-purpose" framework (it supports the STM32, nRF52/53/91-series, RP2040 and ESP32 while having drivers for the CYW43439).It works pretty well from my experience and is actively being developed, so worth looking into if you have the time :)

@Ylfingr php was created as a set of macros for Perl, so not very surprising :ageblobcat:@Graycot

@Graycot And "(do something) or die", which is just perfect.
