       UK pension tax calcs are weird. The pension dept (DWP) doesn't give a statement to the elderly giving annual total - but it's needed for the tax form. They *tell* the tax (HMRC) people, & they use it to check, don't actually tell it you.  The calculation is hairy - either 52 or 53 weeks payment; Pension payments are sharded over the week, and which day you happen to get interacts with the start of tax year; increases often (but not always) happen so you get one of the previous years payment 1st.

       @ali1234 I'm not sure - I mean if you phone up the DWP and ask them they can work it out in some cases; but when I asked to do that for my dad up to the date of death the assistant literally did it by hand the same way; god knows why there isn't a 'calculate' button.
