@tech10 @herag there are just different plattforms which different owners, which communicate between them. Mastodon is a software, that means, if you have an account in a mastodon instance, it is only for this instance, not for all mastodon.

@kjrYeah, I prefer just sticking to what I've been on for the last 6 years. Those others just look annoyingly boring and unintuitive.@tech10

@herag for now I have one on each to explore features of each platform, and also because the interoperability is limited/buggy. Lemmy gives me a topic/community focused experience which I sometimes need (a’la reddit), while mastodon is my endless stream of „tweets” from interesting personas or hashtags. Kbin seems to try to have both, but don’t quote me on that.

@herag I’m done with Reddit, it’s sad, I’ve got plenty of connections I’ll loose, similar to my exodus from twitter… so now I’m looking for my random news/scroll source… mastodon serves my twitter replacement, lemmy or kbin may evolve to my Reddit replacement… what I really want but don’t seem to have is the crossover of both in a single time wasting app ;)
