I have to come clean. I gave Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia a free guided bird walk and trip to our bird banding station in Fairbanks back in 2003. In my defense, I had no cases before the Court. I actually asked my husband if I would get in trouble if I "accidentally" pushed Scalia off the boardwalk into the swamp. He just pointed at all the U.S. Marshals tailing us through the woods and said "What do YOU think?" Still kinda wish I had.

@GreenFire I did. It's what made me go back to see what year I met him. He was the speaker at the Alaska Bar Convention in 2005 and I was asked in my professional capacity to take him on a walk. I wanted to puke but couldn't really say no. The great thing is when I introduced him to the field crew no one knew who TF he was, which seemed to hurt his fee fees.

@GreenFire Scalia told me about all the duck hunting vacations he went on with GOP legislators, which made me want to puke again. My husband was an attorney and when one of his dear friends became a judge we couldn't even invite her over for dinner any more, or go out with just her and her husband. Some people have ethics...

@IdahoLark Know how you feel, 2002 I was enlisted as an escort for Cheney's fishing flotilla down the Snake R. in Grand Teton NP. I had the SS tail gunner in my boat bringing up the rear. Agent seemed to not have the situational awareness you would expect, said he loved these paid vacations as he kicked back & enjoyed the ride. Cheney was a Dick at the put in, boatmen & agents alike treated as background clutter. Was hoping he would catch a hook in his lip.
