       I've been thinking all day that this is the best / most important possible time to be offloading Twitter users onto Mastodon/Lemmy/KBin/Fediverse/whatever and this is also the exact worst week to be joining Mastodon. Like seriously this last week has been a mess. Maybe this is overthinking it but I don't even know what instance I'd recommend people join because I don't know what I could 100% guarantee would even still be part of the connected Fediverse in another month

       I've always felt like joinmastodon.org is always a little less clear / too many steps / too vague / less helpful for what it needs to be than it needs to be. I found out about a joinmastodon.org alternative this week that actually is a good bit more streamlined! I found out about the alternative site in the announcement that it shutting down
