@Ricardus Nice! I've had their 4-channel amp (bi-amped speakers) in my cart for months now 😅

@kr4dio this is for my ribbon near fields in my mixing and mastering room, which is basically my spare bedroom. But since this is better than my ice power that I have on my more modern home stereo I'm going to buy another one for that. I'm also going to recap the power supply in my Carver 900 receiver and get that going again. A friend has some Vandersteen speakers he said he'd give me for the '80s vibe.

@Ricardus I can't decide which of their amps I want for my Bohlender-Graebener ribbons. The NC502mp *seemed* fine at the time, but now there's a newer version with like one one-thousandth of a percent better distortion numbers. Do you follow the audiosciencereview forum?

@kr4dio Yeah, I'm always on ASR. That's where I found out about Buckeye. My tube preamp probably kills the SINAD of my system though.

@Ricardus Well, you want your power amp to reproduce the pre-amp's *desirable* distortion as accurately as possible, right? Without the tube pre, you might have to build a 2nd harmonic generator to put some character in the sound. https://positive-feedback.com/audio-discourse/the-pass-h2-harmonic-generator/

@kr4dio I might build something solid state some day, too. But I'm happy with what I have, and yes, I want faithful reproduction.I did see some new class D amp somewhere (I forget where and the brand) but when you ran a 1K sine wave through it, displayed NO harmonics at all. If they were there they were being masked by the noise floor. We're literally capable of building "perfect" amps right now, and fools like Paul McGowan are still lying to people about cables.
