@luckytran They are describing a real problem - particular risk areas couldn’t be quantified due to insufficient research thus creating an “ambiguity” in which mitigation policymaking was stuck for decades. The attribution is however incorrect, as research funding is also primary a policy matter, so once again the insufficient research can be blamed on the policymakers, not scientists who do the job they’re paid for.

@luckytran I note that half the terms they are using in the paper and saying should have been understood and communicated in previous decades only came into formal use (had an accepted definition) after 2000.The paper is correct: the science could have been better communicated. That however would have required NO interference by fossil fuel agencies in scientific studies and honesty by both mainstream media and politicians.The reporting on the paper by The Hill is one-eyed, and THAT eye has a cataract.#ClimateScience #ClimateChange #ClimateCatastrophy #Climate #Science
