Someone just sent me a “kill yourself” meme.I suspect that person wants Meta to be entirely Fediblocked by everyone—and any deviation from that agenda sends them over the edge. By the way, I’m setting up servers that won’t federate with Meta so I see the merit of blocking them. However, I’m also setting up servers that will interoperate with Meta—I think more interoperability hurts Meta than otherwise. The Fediblock purists don’t like that, I guess. But if that’s the kind of thing that provokes people to send me death wishes, I don’t want anything to do with that extremism. Those gatekeepers can go fuck off.

He locked his comment because he apparently doesn't want everyone on the Fediverse to see it.I don't think he cares about the health of the Fediverse, nor do I think anyone who defends that kind of cowardice cares about it either. What you want is to show everyone your performative activism so that you can make it seem like you're doing something when, in fact, you're doing nothing positive. In reality, you're harming the Fediverse. You have no moral high ground. No one thinks you're a good person.

@atomicpoet That freaking sucks. Byron and I both have had people wish death upon us over this Meta situation. It’s insane. They’re acting like the same people they supposedly “escaped” from Big Social. People should die because a difference of opinion? I’m really sorry, that’s so wrong on so many levels.

This fediblock thing is the biggest undoing of Fediverse. Tolerance of diversity is the key to any conversation. I may not like your proposal but if I shut you down, the biggest loser is me because I am hiding behind an echo chamber. Shame to whoever is trying to fediblock you mate.
