Washing machine broke down … again.8 years old, 3 months till warranty expires.Needs new pump thingys, new transmission, and a few other odds and ends. Let’s see how much longer I can get out of this machine.Next machine will be a Speed Queen, I really miss my mothers old washing machine. It would fill up with 30 gallons of water. The new ones only get 10 gallons, don’t clean your clothes, and leave soap residue.Why?? The environment of course and government regulations. Fuckers 🤨

@Kennyben we just bought our second SQ's last fall (switched to gas unit). I had to modify the lid to allow the water to keep filling while loading clothes. so dumb. but it's fairly quiet.

@Kennyben I have replaced the pump in mine twice, not hard to do, but being a front loader, it is a little bit of a pain to get it open, have to take the entire front off, though with the direct drive LG there is no transmission stuff.

@Kennyben not the lid lock but the lid open/closed toggle switch in the back. i used a binder clip to keep the switch in the "lid closed" position. you can then start filling with the lid open. this new model starts slowly spinning the tub while the water fills. the lid will lock when it starts agitating process.
