I want something else to get me through this semi-charmed kind of life

I think, next time I get surgery, I'm gonna not take T3’s again. Granted, it didn't trigger a full-blown "relapse" of active addiction, with drug-seeking and whatnot - but I do think it may have encouraged some receptor propagation which has been unfavourable, in combination with my regular meds. I took the T3’s for 5 days, and since getting off, have been frequently dreaming and thinking about meth, I've been irritable, I've been seeking riskier behaviour, and rapid mood cycling/1

(Con'd) along with the sleep disturbances which have come with elevated mood, and the paranoia, hallucinations, etc.Granted, some of this could have just been triggered by the disturbance to routine brought about by the surgery, how far I'm tending towards elevated mood, and associated symptoms, seems to imply, to me, that there could have been propagation of some catecholamine receptors, which are now being hit with my regular meds, downstream to the u-opioid receptor activity?/2

(Cont'd) the hospital also brought me my morning meds and hour later than I usually take them, but I don't think that would have triggered as dramatic effects as I'm experiencing, based on a one-off occurrence.Anyways, got good sleep last night. Gonna try to continue to work towards return of sleep, diet, and other routine to regular scheduling; but, if these symptoms don't start to tend towards correction, or they become more severe, I think I'm either (a) gonna need an emergency psych /3

(Cont'd) appointment, or (b) I might need to go to the hospital for a while, get taken off of my more stimulating meds, go on some antipsychotics for a while, and get back on my regular meds from there - however, I really don't want to do this, because this could result in it taking me, like, a year to get back to kind of half-ass being able to take care of myself again. Ugh./eof

I guess there is also (c) get back on meth, but, like, I really don't want to legitimise that in my mind as being a viable option

@fcktheworld587 have you considered naltrexone? I don’t mean to be one of “those people” but holy shit did it ever help me stop drinking.

@farewellwanderlust thank you so much for your kindness and support!I agree that C is a bad option, so I'm doing what I can to avoid areas and situations where impulses might lead me in the wrong direction, right now

@cmdrmoto I hadn't considered it. Thanks for mentioning it. If I end up going to my psychiatrist, I'll mention it, though I don't know if it'll be something they'll want to use for me, considering how out of hand my depressive episodes tend to be. Not trying to be a "special snowflake" or anything, my brain is just pretty fucked up. It took several years of in-patient treatment to sort of figure things out, and there is a very delicate balance in it, if it tips too high or low, it runs away

@fcktheworld587 I do feel for you, having developed some pretty wack neurochemistry myself. And I’m not qualified to prescribe anything. Regardless. I hope you find whatever it takes to once again relegate the hungry ghost to your past.

@fcktheworld587 C is a bad option and I see it as a positive that you are able and willing to acknowledge that it’s there, possibly making it less likely that you would fall into it.@farewellwanderlust

@qurlyjoe @farewellwanderlust agreed. Ignorance to a problem only destroys the possibility to address it - as I learned from years of ignoring emotions
