Now, serious meeting for serious work. https://regiops.net/event/12th-registration-operations-workshop-row12-online-event#DNS #RDAP (even a bit of blockchain)

"RDAP for RIRs" is the most exciting subject for this meeting.

Remember: soon, RDAP will be the only mandatory registry information access protocol at ICANN. Bye, whois?

ICANN is developing a library+CLI client for RDAP. "Because command-line is where the operators live."Of course, written in the mandatory trendy language of the day.

Rant by the author: jCard/vCard is awful for RDAP developers. He believes JSContact to be no better.

Many bugs in actual RDAP servers found when developing the client.

Steve Crocker on a model for data protection for registration data. (Quite abstract, I did not really got it.)

Interesting analysis of "web3", blockchain domains backed by a domain in DNS: around 1000 thousand, many broken. I learn there is a patent on Web3 :-)

Back to serious stuff, with #EPP performance, when the registrar tries to synchronise it's database with the registry one. On average, 7.3 epp:info per domain, for all its objects.Proposal: a EPP extension to ask related objects. At least XML code on the slides :-)

Good reminder about DNS abuses (can work for fediverse control as well) "Reports are not sufficient, we need evidence"

@bortzmeyer Yet several TLDs have acted with simple dog-pilling happening rather than evidence.

Verisign talking about RPKI (routing security) for their anycast services for instance .com DNS. They use 270 AS numbers!

The speaker seems to regret that there are only free software programs to manage RPKI. He seems to think it is not serious.

Now, the panel about the role of DNS in digital identities. What will be out identities in the future, how will.we manage trust, etc. The triangle of trust: holder, issuer, verifier.

@bortzmeyer va n'a jamais trop été un langage de sysadmin, si ? (je dois avouer que même pour le folklore et les légendes, c'est trop vieux pour moi)
