I’m trying to help a family member sue a fraudulent unlicensed contractor in #baltimore #maryland1. Do you know what search terms I should use to find a lawyer that specializes in this?2. Do any of you have a lawyer you trust for this sort of thing? 3. Do you know anyone else who would know a good lawyer for this? It's a textbook case! There have got to be people who specialize in thishttps://www.dllr.state.md.us/license/mhic/mhicchuck.shtml

@heycaseywattsup What are they hoping to obtain from the suit? Do they want to be made whole for something the contractor did to them or stop them from performing unlicensed work in the future?

@heycaseywattsup Reporting them to DLLR might help with future issues, not sure how effective they are generally at enforcement. I'm guessing the amount in question isn't under the small claims limit? Other folks in your thread has mentioned that winning isn't the issue so much as getting blood from a stone.

@vees the Maryland Home Improvement Commission seems like they’ll help with both! At least some But if they reach the limit of what they can do, then the next step is an attorney

@heycaseywattsup You can always just decide to sue for the $5,000.
