what tools do you use to scan the photos you take? do you just use a document scanner and a crop tool? is the app based photo scanning tools your style because it's convenient? or do you simply point a digital camera at your photos as a photo-ception?i am genuinely interested in hearing what you do! #believeinfilm #instantregret

@deadsuperhero i used to scan a lot when i had access to a proper film scanner through my school, but the last few days i have tested out app based ones since taking a picture of my instant pictures leaves a lot of lighting flares and reflections. do you scan film strips or individual pictures when you do your thing?

@gaige I use a document scanner on vintage prints. Some of my early favorite negatives where scanned on Kodak Photo CD but that is now antiquated.

@gaige I use an Epson V600 with Silverfast software to scan both negatives and prints. In a pinch, I’ll use Google’s Photo Scanner app.

@cdevroe the v600 i am familiar with, as it was available at the folk college i went to. since i mainly use linux, i have used darktable instead of silverfast.the google photo scanner app is my go-to these days, but i wish it had a white balance tool at least. i mainly scan instant pictures, so i should have a pretty decent idea what pure white is since the photo frame is always the same colour, but they probably expect us to use an image editor to colour correct
