       I'm a little surprised that we collectively decided to go along with calling Facebook “Meta”. Yes, they changed the label on the corporate letterhead, but it’s still Facebook.

       @tek, totally still Facebook. How come people didn’t attach themselves to calling Google “Alphabet”, but were fine humoring Facebook with their little name change?

       @tek My thought is, they do it to get rid of stigma, by using their new name and reminding people of all the shit they've done, we're soiling their new name too. I don't know if it matters all that much though

       @tavi I’m going to make it a point to refer to both names as interchangeable, because they are.(I told someone I wouldn’t get an Oculus device because you had to have a Facebook account. “That’s a myth! You don’t have to use Facebook at all! You just need a Meta account!” I wanted to flip a table.)
