       @Tutanota I'm pretty sure that Google has pressured individual instances into disabling downloading options many times over the last few years. That's the only thing that makes sense to me as to why the feature has been turned off on so many instances. There are still a few that allow downloads left though.

       @Tutanota I've already switched to Peertube and Odysee. I suggest people do the same if you want to not have to keep hopping around to avoid Google.

       @PublicLewdness @Tutanota no matter what a decentralized video platform like peertube or odysee will be better. although youtube is such a big part of the web that having invidious is such an important part to being more private on the internet. also the invidious ui is 100 times better than youtubes awful ui
