It’s obvious how dishonest these guys are when you recognize how inconsistent the messaging here is. A few years ago he was reckless for not locking down hard/long enough. Actually, this is pretty fucking funny because it confirms a thought I had about a minute before going looking for the poll specifics: I was first hearing of this DeSantis guy through all the smear pieces that started popping up on Reddit. Reddit (at least the political subs) seem like they’re mostly controlled by far-left dweebs.“Fascist” being the most common word is a reflection of the state of the discourse. You’ve got a relatively moderate Republican who is leaning into culture war BS for relevancy on the national stage, likely indicating presidential ambitions, and the DNC and leftist dweebs recognizing he’s a threat and throwing out the ridiculous smears in response.

@realcaseyrollins Moderate means his behavior and politics are comparable to his peers, and most governors do things that could be described in exactly the same way, at least with respect to the first two things.By the way, many states ban direct-to-consumer car sales. It’s a protectionism thing because the dealer lobby is too strong. Car dealerships (usually) make a lot of money, and they spend some of that money to ensure that they keep making that money. One way to do this is to lobby the state to pass laws that force car companies to do business with you if they want to sell in your state.Protectionism unfortunately has a long and well-established history in politics.

All words are meaningless now, which was the point. Fascist now means "guy I don't like" but then normal people hear fascists and think the real meaning and get concerned. I just think that if you're killed because they don't like your race vs if you're killed because they don't like you personally, you're still just as dead.@wjmaggos and Casey's argument that it can constitute a threat towards other members of that group makes sense to me, but I think that should be the explicit reason without appealing to hate.
