Currently I have a VERY STRONG feeling to block mastodon.artThe admin over there always complains so very much about the descions other admins make and just now the person is only fueling this meta indicent BIG TIMEThey block everything that is "wrong" in their eyes but they are much worse themselves.. Sad..

@stux I get that, and a lot of admins are having some horrible takes. But we shouldn’t block over personal beef with other admins in my opinion (if you want to personally block that admin it’s another story of course) As a user on your instance I enjoy a lot of the account on .art

@stux sorry, I feel like I caused this situation! i hope you manage to settle down and do something fun tonighti am not a fan at all of how their admin treated kris nova during the drama involving hachyderm, i think it became harassment very fast

@stux I have a strong suspicion they'll save you the trouble before too long. Given their history, I suspect they'll eventually take the stance "any server that doesn't agree to the pact must also be blocked".

@stux Looking at their blocklist *is* interesting. A lot of blocking for reasons that are completely reasonable, of course, but I have to wonder when I see that they block instances for AI Art.I also see "Owned by Meta" in the list, and quite a lot of "Federates with the usual suspects". If Meta becomes one of the usual suspects...

@stux Kinda reminds me of a fimfiction group I run. The admin before the admin before me had a "three strikes, you're out" policy, and posted the strikes publicly, Putting something in the wrong folder was a strike. Way overstrict, and another group was formed because people didn't like them.These days, none of that is policy, and one of the admins I recruited was the creator of the other group...

@stux A quarter of the accounts I follow are on that instance.Fair enough if you want to block the admin, but you're not just blocking them from your own feed; you're blocking everyone on that instance from the feeds of everyone on your instance.
