@stux I mean yeah, but thats also part of the problem. So many of my older relatives are on fb, and their being there doesnt change the nature of the platform.

@stux Im not even a person saying that fb is nazi whatever whatever if you thought that was what I was implying. I was just trying to say, badly, that yeah so my mom and dad use that website. That doesnt make that website better by association, and it doesnt say that much about the conduct of the people shaping the platform. Thats what I thought you were implying.

@stux And actually if it counts for anything the same other relatives I wouldnt be surprised if they use gab are on fb and a huge portion of my family very well puts up with them.

@stux FB is pretty toxic though. Which is why I had to leave. I watched my brother grow into an ugly maga there. The seeds were there but what he was feed really was like Miracle Grow for bigotry.

@stux I don't know about your parents, mine dropped FB in 2010 because of how bad it was already getting. With both of them having lost family members in the Holocaust, they saw what was happened on FB and got out as fast as they could. "Never again" was not working and could not work there without support from FB staff, and the staff was encouraging things instead of blocking it.
