@ewdocparris 2000-2010, or thereabouts. Peak Newgrounds, 4chan, YouTube, flash games in general, old school Runescape, rampant piracy, MySpace, heavier usage of forums. Maybe I'm just nostalgic for it because that's what I grew up with but I love that internet era.

@ewdocparris I voted for 2005-2015 mostly because I didn't have internet access before 2005-ish, though when reading about the Usenet times I do feel second-hand nostalgia to it.That being said I think the golden age of php forums and instant messengers - which I think is roughly 2005-2012 - was a time where internet was full of opportunities to find interesting people or interesting hobbies. It also helped that people weren't so polarized back then.

@ewdocparris voted for 95 to 05 because AOL was great. I remember all the usenet folks hated it but it was centralized just like usenet was but way easier to use. It had tons of chats and stuff going on on every subject 24/7 all the time, unlike now you have discord rooms with hundreds of people but no ones taking lol, are they bots? Did people just run out of things to say? What hell happened? #deadinternettheory

@internetuserguy it was centralized just like usenet was but way easier to use.Usenet was completely decentralised, just like IRC, and very easy to use. You probably had a lousy client.@ewdocparris

@BlinkRape @ewdocparris disagree, I think that *really* happened when people got smart phones. Before then the internet was still accessible but not something normies would lurk on all day unless it was for business or emailing family members.
