       synthesis (not a term originated by hegel) is popularly misconstrued to mean some kind of combination or compromise between the thesis and the antithesis. but what defeats frieza is not a 'combination' of goku and frieza, but goku being forced by the criticism embodied in frieza to go beyond his limits, turning the abstract into the concrete. the synthesis is not a combination of the thesis and the antithesis, but a return to the thesis in a higher form, having absorbed the negation. the legendary super saiyan is the world spirit in motion
