       @leigh those tend to be clunky, plus, it's hard if not impossible to use apps with them, or group multiple topics into one feed if you wanted (although there is RSS, but that makes interaction hard...)*plus*, every forum you use, you need a different login for. unless we collectively decided to reboot OpenID (under a different name 🤞?)

       @blake@fosstodon.org @me@social.jlamothe.netYup, web pages (and progressive web apps) are much more limited in what they can do, and it results in a worse user experience than apps.However, a ton of apps nowadays just display a web page or do not make use of the native features to increase compatibility, making the whole concept pointless and inferior to a PWA...
