In 1947 Bell Labs invented the transistor. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

@RL_Dane @j3t @spacekookie yeah, and the fact that everything is 'poltical', me saying 'fuck the reddit CEO' and 'fuck reddit' and that 'Discord has became an awful place' is not at all poltical, it is infact my opinion of those things, and my ranking of how those things have contributed to society.

@RL_Dane @j3t @spacekookie I mean not in the big scheme...I mean in a simple way of looking at it.I mean in the way that the news somehow relates something that some person does to somehow anti-LGBTQ or pro-LGBTQ or even something else.Ultimately, there is alot of noise in the world. I choose to not listen to that noise because I know ultimately it will confuse me and leave me angry.I might have taken too much noise in the whole Reddit sega, and everything else.

@RL_Dane @j3t @spacekookie Ultimately looking at America, we are kinda fucked... the place that is supposedly 'free', controls the social standards by which we are bound to, and I don't like the fact that your own life decisions that you live with are controlled by other people ultimately. there has to be something better out there. I guess I won't get to live there.

No country is purely anything.I value those who think that pure anarchocapitalism, or pure libertarianism, or pure Marxism are *THE* answer, but truly, I think this kind of ideological purity-chasing is a fool's errand. Saying that X hasn't worked because it hasn't REALLLY been done properly yet is honestly a cop out....

@fbievan @j3t @spacekookie...I think the best system is a pragmatic synthesis of winning strategies found elsewhere, not a puritanical* adherence to a single ideology.*I actually respect the Puritans the way I respect those other groups. Seeking ideological purity is a noble thing, to me. Just ultimately not fruitful. And in the case of the Puritans, the oppressed *really* became the oppressor, just as seen over and over again in history.

@gabriel @fbievan @j3tThe difference between synthesis and compromise (while they are largely coextensive) is that synthesis seeks to construct a new pragmatic system out of the best part of other systems, whereas compromise seeks to find unity and an acceptable "greatest common factor" or common ground between two parties....

@gabriel @fbievan @j3t...The big difference being that synthesis can completely ignore systems that are fundamentally broken, like fascism, whereas compromise must seek common ground between all.I do think compromise is important though, of course. I'm just being kinda academic, as I am wont. ;)
