Okay so I dont like misskey, just installing the docker version ended up being a mess, some file permissions were odd right from the get go so no media or avatars were loaded in. Still looking for some alternative to mastodon to host for a small town thats easy to maintain and is not caching media (rather just using the remote media if possible). #admin

@SolSoCoG@ieji.de Hmm… #Streams or #Hubzilla. Check Streams first.* https://codeberg.org/streams/streamsFeatures: https://codeberg.org/streams/streams/src/branch/dev/FEATURES.md#Fediverse

@youronlyone hmm.. tried streams. mail is not working even though php sendmail is available, after removing flag 1 via pma my account name was set to a wrong name (which was pre entered based on my display name, not what I typed in the field), another one to cross off of the list unfortunately. Ill give hubzilla a try now I guess 🙂 Thanks for the recommendations

By default streams caches media - but you can turn it off.

@mike looks promising but for the love of god I couldn't get it to send mails. Also I could have sworn to write alex as account but it still kept alexander as accountname based on what I typed at full name field :crychkat3r: . Proxying non-ssl images is pretty neat though. Thanks for the effort!
