       @tydalforce @beatnikprof I might check it out. Did it do what was common from several other shows of the era that the big arc wasn’t the only story told? I miss when shows were 15-26 episodes a season and you actually got to know the characters and see their individual stories.

       @nbax @beatnikprof nice long 20+ episode seasons. Multiple threads. Some wild character development! The show pays off on rewatches, too- when you know what is gonna happen you start catching all the things you missed. You’ll pick up even more on the next rewatch, and the next…. It’s a masterpiece, and my favorite show.

       @nbax @tydalforce Some guideposts:1.) They had a 5 year plan from the start, so they were never going to overstay their welcome. That plan took a few hits (usually because of casting or studio shenanigans) along the way, but ultimately they saw it through,2.) The first season is a lot of stand alone eps to set the table. But things start connecting toward the end of that season.3.) They did gov’t conspiracy stories better than X Files.

       @clacke @beatnikprof @nbax @tydalforce You may be interested to know that JMS wrote "escape hatches" for every character in the story plan so if an actor left they could keep going with less difficulty. JMS is a real pro.
