still no idea what they want to do with it (stolen picture)and the second locomotive actually *has* to be there because this one loco doesn't even have the train electric cable, so it's not even dead weight but has to be powered, lol

@piggo normally yes, but when you need a very powerful diesel engine, generator, fuel tanks, cooling but also the main transformer and all the electrics, it kind of adds up in both weight and space

@wanisbunes no, unlike this conversion (or other last-mile diesel option, like on the finnish railways vectrons), the duality of the modes with the DM vectron is the diesel operation being first and the wire-power second, it is meant to be operated as a diesel locomotive than can opportunistically save fuel and emission under wire if possible, it is not an electric locomotive that can be operated at reduce power and range independently
