@gabriel When I think of the rich, I think of 100M+ total net worth, something like >2M a year in compensation.

@gabriel It's more position in the economy rather than some exact amount of income and assets. The Rich are secure, they don't have to worry about money or how much any mundane purchase costs. The Rich make money by owning capital, owning investments rather than working. They may work but wages are not how they make their money. Their assets may be inherited or not but they had significant advantages to get them. For instance, Bill Gates had well-off parents who were not abusive drunks who beat him to take out their stress from working a hard job but instead nurtured his curiosity and sent him to a private school that had a computer. The Rich have the authority to fire people, condemning them to poverty if they do not serve them. They may have political power and will be treated completely differently by the legal system, with prosecutors tip-toeing around them out of fear of defense attorneys with closer to equal power. The Rich is a relative term that varies based on geography. A rich person in New York City may have a different income level than one in Mexico City.

@gabriel it's not the amount of money but if they infringe on the freedom of others. if they do no harm it's just me being envious.

@gabriel Statistically it should be something like "Earning more than $5 a day"...Personally; Someone who doesn't need to worry about meals, shelter, health and old age.
