       @MissingThePt How can you be a judge presiding over a court case, and represent the defendent at the same time,  when a judge is meant to be impartial.

       @zleap@qoto.org @MissingThePt@mastodon.social In the UK when someone is representing themself (as Legal Aid is almost impossible to get), the judge is required to make allowances and assist as necessary, short of ACTUALLY acting as Counsel.I do not know if the US permits McKenzie Friends, essentially Law Students who act as Advisers to persons lacking Legal Counsel.Even if it does, not even the MOST Charitable volunteer would assist The Orange Fart would they?

       @Angua @MissingThePt The fact that the evidence against Donald Trump is so powerful is a good explanation as to why no one will help represent him.   Hopefully once this is over,  there will need to ensure that there are proper systems in place re documents of any kind, surely even Joe Biden should not be removing documents without a proper system in place to track where they are.Seems like incompetence within the US system has allowed this to happen too.  Working in schools I can't 'just' take files home with me.
