I'm using Kaczynski himself as my source, he's the one that considered the attempts to paint him as insane or a victim to be libelous, he fought with his own legal counsel over this. By his own accounts, it was not traumatic and did not influence his thoughts or actions. Do you not see how painting him in the light you are makes his political message weaker? That's why the media is actually "sympathetic" to him, because if people were to realize that his beliefs and actions were the result of a sound mind and not a conditioned or damaged mind, people wouldn't be able to dismiss him as a madman.The "anonymous individual" was another test subject, that each subject was paired up with. The actual nature of these "sweeping, personal attacks" were literally just that retard calling his ideas shit over and over while Kaczynski kept telling him that his insults were meaningless because he had no actual critiques.

You probably won't find a bigger supporter of Kaczynski's ideals than me on this side of the fediverse, I routinely counter-signal people I actually like or who are socially disadvantagous to me to refute, just for saying that technology is a tool that can be used responsibly by the "good guys", or that if they think that the course of society can effectively be planned or guided by people. it's completely ridiculous to accuse me, of all people, of slandering him.

Interesting but Kaczynski gives contradictory answers about this over his life, he mentions elsewhere that he seriously wanted to kill his psychologist and briefly thought he wanted to be a woman before coming to his senses. Methinks the socially precocious and isolated genius isn't going to be open and forthcoming about his uncomfortable personal history.
