they should put Daszak to work on it. maybe he can program it to grow directly into a 3200 ft², 2 story house, complete with plumbing and electrical conduit spaces in the walls . . .

Because bamboo doesn't really grow outwards, it grows upwards. It won't fill the mold like a melon will.

Oh, I should mention they do bind bamboo into shapes like coils or angles when it's yound and allow it to harden into that shape as it grows.
