Been on some post-surgery T3’s(1 q4h) for the last several days. Didn't take one before bed, and woke up dope sick today. Well, I'm down to my last couple, anyways. I'll be finishing them off, today, and then I guess I'll be sick for a few days. Crazy how quick dependence sets in, with such a low dose, of such a mild opioid, once you've had it before. Oh well, at least it is just with a low dose of a low mild one, rather than getting real sick. Good reminder for me.

@fcktheworld587 im so scared of surgery ngl. 12 years off opiates and so far no need for them but i know its inevitable.

@Fullnihilism BTDT. You can talk to your docs about this, especially the surgeon and anesthesiologist. They may be able to suggest alternatives. @fcktheworld587

@qurlyjoe @Fullnihilism luckily for me, opiates weren't my drug of choice; so, as long as I didn't experience any rushing, or strong opiate intoxication, I would be fine.I told them I could have IV opioids, but only while I'm under(none while conscious); and, I wouldn't take anything more powerful than T3's by mouth, on a short term basis.I think this was a good strategy for me, and I'll repeat in future surgeries, where necessary
