#Russia "Nezygar" channel just published a story about a "revolutionary" discovery by Russian scientists that "will change the paradigm of economic development currently benefiting the West". In short, the story is a complete denial of not only anthropogenic climate change but even the ozone layer damage by chlorofluorocarbons. The only thing that makes me a bit suspicious is that the text is a complete gibberish, a small sample:> The gist of their scientific conclusions is that global warming is not due to anthropogenic factors. The main cause of the warming of the Earth, including the oceans, is the removal of the potassium isotope from the nucleus. And local climatic catastrophes are caused by the increasing emission of natural hydrogen, which forms ozone holes and causes the growth of forest and steppe fires.None of this makes any sense from scientific point of view, and it's not even feasible pseudoscience — the text is a complete nonsense, exceptional even for Russian state news. @t_mkdfI was suspecting that in the first place too, as it looked like a typical climate denial pseudoscience. But if you imagine some Tucker Carlson using it, how would he even quote it? "A Russian Telegram channel presented research..."? I was unable to find any traces of the scientists they're referring to, it's just too much nonsense in one place to be useful for disinformation.

@kravietz it just has to be quoted once by someone in the public.Like Joe Rogan. Remember e.g. soy boys? The whole idea that eating soy makes you more feminine since it contains pseudo-estrogen... It started with one non-scientific post by a disputed dietician (similar to the Anti-Vaxxers...).

@UT3UMS TBH I have no idea what it is… Normally when they drop such disinformation, there’s a coordinated procedure for that, using many Russian state media, Western blogs, social media etc. This one is completely out of thin air, maybe they jumped the gun.
