It’s crazy how I *never* remember the link syntax in Markdown. I never know which come first, the parenthesis or the square brackets, the link or the description, I just don’t know...#orgmode links, on the other hand...

@phundrak I make the same mistake all the time. Org mode is too nice, it's just a shame there isn't much (or extensive, like Markdown) support for it in terms parsers and Git frontends[1] 1. I have to resort to a pre-commit hook to ship an MD version of Org files when using Sourcehut as it doesn't render them.

@grtcdr @phundrak I was literally looking up the link syntax for Markdown 4-5 times the last few days! They should have made it just [link][text].And Sourcehut (as the only Git platform) not rendering Org-mode is a bit sad. People bring up the discussion every once in a while but Drew's stance is WON'T FIX.Instead you have to roll your own GraphQL client to inject custom HTML into your README 🤣https://todo.sr.ht/~sircmpwn/man.sr.ht/13

@louis @grtcdr @phundrak Interesting! I've never thought that the link syntax of all things would be confusing. (Then again, I'm using Markdown for way more than a decade, so I'm not a useful benchmark.)I always have trouble with what goes where in wiki-link style syntax. URL first? Label first? Good to hear that Pandoc supports both, as mentioned on @KarlV's page :)Org's killer feature, IMHO, is the tooling via Emacs to insert links. 👍
