       I've been hearing from some US friends asking if I'm alright because of all the wildfires in Canada. There is a "fire of note" nearby and this morning we can smell the smoke. They say it's only going to get worse as the season goes on.        @mentallyalex thanks very much! We can see the smoke billowing out in the distance so it's very concerning although it's far enough away that we aren't in danger from this particular fire. The air quality is pretty bad though. And they closed the highway to the area so people have to take a 4-hour detour along forestry roads.

       @peggycollins Oh gross. I've been seeing some photos from up there and its just so sad.Yesterday was bad here, but today is officially "good" but it's like - 1 degree from "not-good".Please stay safe, I hope you have masks!

       @mentallyalex I know what you mean about 1 degree from "not good". It sounds like most of Canada is going through this, and very early in the season too. Yes, I have masks! Probably going to pack a getaway bag just in case too.

       @peggycollins I learned it in San Jose. 😆 I'm *from* Texas (originally) so my biggest fears back then were tornadoes and normal levels of police violence and the regular dangers of living in a densely populated area.Then I moved to San Jose, California and found out the ground moves. :blobcatgiggle:

       @SharonCummingsArt thanks...yup, the situation is pretty drastic here. We might try to get away for a couple of weeks soon while they install a gas line where we live but trying to figure out where we can go where there isn't any smoke (in Canada at least) isn't easy right now.
