After Kakhovka water reservoir disappearing, famous Ukrainian fertile fields at South may turn into deserts.Different media say that Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant destruction has left about 94% of irrigation systems in Kherson, 74% in Zaporizhzhya and 30% in Dnipropetrovsk regions without a source of water.I guess Russia will leave soon at least Zaporizhzhya and Kherson regions. There're less economic reasons to fight for that land.#nowar

@aetios I think it always did.Why do they stay at Donbass? Bacause it's full of resources. And full of mines. Why do they stay at Crimea? If has much enough Gas and Oil.Zaporizhzya and Kherson regions? Overland way to Crimea, control over Azov sea and unlocking water supply channel from Kahovka water reservoir to Crimea. There will be no Kahovka water reservoir in just a few days. Without control over water supply from Dnipro river, I don't see much reasons to control desert lands and sea ports used to export grain and another harvest from no more fertile lands. And I wonder if overland way to Crimea is so important to fight for it.

@yura >There're less economic reasons to fight for that landMain reason for the presence there is a land corridor to the peninsula

@Shirei yeah. But it's the only huge economic reason remaining I can see right now. And I'm not sure if it is reasonable to fight for such a huge territory to have a land corridor.
