       I continue to be astonished by the brazen hypocrisy of a tech industry building suites of tools to enable remote collaboration, who then turn around and demand their workers back into the office. Especially when they come to the debate armed with little more than their "feelings" about how work is most effectively done.

       @tilvids My employer had a go at actually measuring productivity. Which was down only around 30% in the early  days of lockdown. Remembering, of course, that this included people whose children no longer had schools or childcare arrangements to go to.

       @TimWardCam I find that most companies struggle to truly measure productivity period, so I assume most of these companies professing how much more productive they are in person are, quite simply, lying.

       @tilvids I did a double take when a colleague and I added up all the money spent buying licenses for Zoom, MS Teams, Cisco UCM (or whatever they call it now), etc.  Like I wonder if the management even cares. 🤷🏾‍♂️

As companies realize they don't need all this unused office space, they are reducing their leased floor space.It's causing downward pressure on the value of these holdings.2. Private equity hedge fund managers ordered profitable tech companies to do mass layoffs3. Managers can't intimidate staff into working unpaid overtime
