       My dog is not handling the summer heat well (it's his first summer, and it's not even that hot).What do I do?  I try to be a good owner.  In addition to giving him ice cubes and kongs filled with frozen yogurt, I buy him a nice cooling pad for him to lie on when he's overheating.So what does the ingrate do?He of course starts chewing it up the second my back is turned.😡 🤪

       @DaddyO Make sure the fur on the pads are cut very low. Get him a tiny paddling pool? Obviously you have water around for him.

       @Mummabear Yes - we have water out, but he started drinking so much and so fast that he just made himself throw up all over the place.So I put a big rock in the middle of his water bowl that he has to work around to slow him down, and we don't let him have water for a little bit right after he eats.He's such a doofus.

       @DaddyO First Summer -> young dog->drive to chew... Provide something more interesting for chewing - pig ears, cow thorax (cut in couple inch long pieces so it will last)...
