I know my misogyny skill is actually very low-ranked because I still get sad when I see these women climber stories. There are posts out there of the corpses of retardo feminists going up grossly unprepared, only to die in days but no matter how insufferable they were in life, my empathy outweighs the catharsis. Ladies have no business being in danger like this, the fact they got up there meant they weren’t loved by someone strong enough to save them.

Helping people up there is a difficult question. Not even sherpas have a lot of extra energy beyond dragging themselves and the necessary gear up and down. Traditional wisdom says trying to help someone up there is a good way to die yourself. If the scenario was two brave explorers like Hillary meeting while doing something pioneering and meaningful than sure help the other guy.But why would anyone take on additional risk of dying (and throwing away years of preparation and lots of money) to save a Darwin award contestant from his unpreparedness or wrong decisions on a commercial trip.

Interesting bit of history.I believe the ceiling of biplanes is something like 15k feet, that is ~4500 meters. It's another 4300 meters from there to the peak without being acclimated to those heights and mountaineering experience. Wilson's plan was a bad idea from the get-go.

Hungarian guy tried climbing Everest last week. Alone and without supplemental oxygen, the "clean way". He climbed K2 and some other peaks this way. (death ratio is worse on K2 than on Everest) He wasn't inexperienced. But only a handful of people so far accomplished a clean climb of Everest. Somewhat unsurprisingly he died - leaving a wife and a kid. What a selfish, retarded thing for a father to do.

@WashedOutGundamPilot K2 is the more impressive peak to summit, from videos I have seen. It's the greater killer and monster, despite being 1,000 ft. shorter and almost half the prominence of Everest.Still, vainglory and vanity are some hell of a sins. :tanya_sigh:
