What is the purpose of circumcision? I have a theory. In the first place,1. It's genital mutilation2. It's pre-verbal trauma, probably the worst kind, and it is the first thing that happens in one's lifeIceland considers banning circumcision, the ADL threatens that they will use their connections to associate Iceland with Nazism (which they admit is a lie) and destroy their economy.

They cut out the clitoris, sand the sides of the labia together and sew them shut so that they fuse together in some FGM practices. The husband will rip it open on her wedding night, and sometimes demand she be sewn back together.Yeah, that’s just “as bad” as cutting off a flap. Bye.

@Nazareno @MountainJay so, typically circumcision is cosmetic surgery. Usually religious or cultural. Painful, yes; so is smacking a baby’s butt, suctioning fluid from their nostrils, drawing blood, ear piercing before they can talk, and mistakes with toenail clippers. It’s a tad hard to pinpoint pain levels. Go visit a NICU.1. It isn’t, unless done .. maliciously?2. It’s like the 16th painful thing, often a few days after being born. Been done for thousands of years making #2 specious.

I really don’t ask many other fathers, but those who know of it’s original purpose are generally 100% behind it. The number of people who still attend church has significantly dropped off in the US.
