Gotta say I'm actually really enjoying System Shock Remaster. Has a few small issues but it's been great fun. Feels bizarre to have played two games in a row now and had both be good (System shock and boltgun). Anyone else pick up SSR? How are you liking it so far?

It's interesting but I haven't played much of it. There's definitely a big difference between SSR and most modern games. There's a whole lot less hand holding on what you need to do, at least when you have the difficulty set all the way up.

@Jim I played Prodeus and the Half Life remake last year so I'm kind of topped up on Boomer shooters. I'll probably go through Boltgun during Halloweentober.

@Jim Sorry I've been obsessed and am just waiting to get home so I can play the shit out it. Good to hear System Shock is solid, I was never into any of the Shock games but I might actually check this one out.

@Nym No worries. Looks like a really solid SF game full of tons of features and modes. Looks like they learned their lesson compared to the launch state that was SF5.

@ventkun I love Alan Wake, had a blast with it, and never thought we'd actually ever get a sequel of any type. I understand everyone is apprehensive about it turning into a "slay queen, slay" game because of a black female lead but I'm willing to give the team the benefit of the doubt that they'll make another really good entry. As long as they don't pull a "Go fuck your mother I'm Donte" I'll remain cautiously optimistic.

@Jim It's great! Being very methodical took me about 2 hours to clean the medical bay. Picking fights, backtracking, collecting resources, there's always a atmosphere of trying to not get yourself killed, having a contingency plan like having a pistol with teflon bullets for when shit hits the fan. Total 180 from the way i am playing Boltgun.

@Jim ya really all I have are minor nitpicks(I want fackin pong and other the other minigames gosh darn it,) lack of original OST or even an option to switch to the OG soundtrack, and one big gamebreaking bug, I.E. having to skip the Flight Deck entirely.

@Jim All my acquaintances are telling me to get it too, consensus is that it is a great remake. In my case I have so many games on the pipeline and so much work to do that I will get it once it is discounted.

@Jim I'm enjoying it. I probably will only play it one time. Like the original it takes me a long time to find the next thing I need to do to make progress. I've been playing on maximum difficulty, except for the time limit being off.
