A bit of a slowdown in accounts growth on Mastodon in May, after a stellar April.Let's keep encouraging our friends and acquaintances to join Mastodon. If you still post on twitter, then adding a link to your Mastodon account would be helpful. Also, let's address the issues that keep major orgs from moving to the Fediverse.@atomicpoet Data source: @mastodonusercount#Mastodon #Fediverse

@AkaSci @mastodonusercount @atomicpoet Why is growth good. From where I stand it's burning the planet. Ditigality being no exception.

@johnbessa @AkaSci @mastodonusercount @atomicpoet I don't think it takes a genius to conclude that more users in fedi means less need for proprietary platforms? like the only way to no growth here is... no new people, which will still ask for social networks regardless

@xerz @atomicpoet @AkaSci @mastodonusercount @xerz, you are no genius. Opensource, fedi, gnu, etc are all in increasingly bad shape such nearly all of society has no option but to be nearly-completely dependent on proprietary systems. Things were a lot better two years ago, and even optimistic 20 years ago. Growth has ruined everything.
