I use yt-dlp (regular yt-dl kinda stinky lately)The automation uses a single commandyt-dlp -o "%(uploader)s/%(title)s-%(id)s/%(title)s.%(ext)s" --write-thumbnail -add-metadata --write-comments --write-description --all-subs --download-archive downloaded.txt --no-post-overwrites -a chann.txt-o is the name structure--write-thumbnail creates an image of the thumbnail--add-metadata adds all the info about the video--write description writes the description ti its own file--all-subs downloads all available (non ai generated) subtitles--download-archive catalogs what videos have already beendownloaded to a file called "downloaded.txt"--no-post overwrites doubly ensures no overwrites-a points to a text file named "chann.txt" which I periodically add to.

Google is planning on wiping inactive actives starting December, they consider "inactive" as any account not used in the last 2 years. There is a very high chance this includes all videos and YouTube channels associated with the accounts.It will wipe terabytes of data off the platform, I'm doing what I can to preserve classic videos, channels I liked and channels I think provide some artistic or historical value.

This is probably a weird and obscure request, but I ask everyone involved in youtube archival I see. I've been trying to find again for years and if you're archiving dead YouTube stuff maybe you'd have some idea.I remember it being called something like XxWarofRosesxX or something edgy like that. It was just basically these two teenage boys who made videos where they were basically doing improv with what were probably their childhood toys. It was super autistic but I still quote the videos. Particularly the lines from "Battle of the Bands".Their most popular videos were parodies of the Sonic Adventure games, but they also did a real-time fandub of Sonic 06 years before that Snapcube tranny existed.There's also the YTPs that are commonly known lost media, such as some of marck3611's videos, but there's also a lost KotH YTPMV that I don't see mentioned often. The interesting thing is that years later someone else who noticed it was deleted, actually recreated it entirely, but this is also lost as far as I could tell. It was basically Hank rapping about his stockpile of weapons, so I think they got flagged down.
