Well, had another run-in with the community you've got on Matrix @thelinuxEXP. I seem to have been banned from the Matrix space as people got heated over jokingly asking whether Traps are gay. Pretty common meme/joke on the internet that people had a kneejerk reaction over that Gabby ended up banning me from the entire space while I was trying to defend my position. I should've probably just let things simmer down rather than argue the semantics of words and the context in which they are used, but seeing as you tend to be a pretty reasonable guy I figured I would instead reach out to you on here.

@eolas @thelinuxEXP I was banned from Techlore for stating I had no political view in response a person asking which side of politics I subscribe to. Apparently not having an opinion get you banned.

@eolas That's what I said! I called myself a centrist and got banned 5 minutes after that. Truth is I'm not even centrist. I only said that to avoid the discussion.

Crossposting something I mentioned from my previous thread here as I feel the introspection offered may be worth consideration.I didn’t expect everyone to be neutral or positive about it. That said, it is a pretty well-known troll question/joke rooted in meme culture. If you saw someone post that in a room you frequent, you would probably just note the person as being out of touch and continue on with your day. That was what I was expecting for the most part but instead found it to be pretty incendiary. I did something I probably should’ve known better than to do and faced the consequences of that. By not acting in accordance with the “vibe“ of the community. If I end up staying banned from there then I won’t fight anyone on it although it will suck that severe action was taken over something relatively trivial. There’s a lot of stuff to take into account when engaging with a community, the tone of the community, what may be permissible or forbidden, and the maturity of those participating in it. Suppose in the end I miscalculated the severity of what was said, doubled down instead of shutting up which resulted in what happened. Not that I was without fault for what I had done, obviously that isn’t the case but how it was handled leaves a lot to be desired.— Eolach 5/29/2023, 11:12:17 AM GMT.
