Nintendo did not DMCA Dolphin, it's Valve who took it down after asking Nintendo for their opinion

@iro_miya so much hardcore misinfo. But because people love Volvo and Lord Gaben, they’ll forgive him, of course.

@yassie_j@snowdin.town now to be fair I think that Valve's suspicion that Dolphin would be trouble is reasonable, it does sound to me that Dolphin is a DRM bypass and thus its distribution as is is illegal, so maybe Valve just did the inevitable.Could Dolphin be modified to not bypass DRM? And if so, would Valve welcome them back? Who knows. I wouldn't put too much blame on Valve as long as there are genuine legal concerns. But people are talking about it as if it's all Nintendo's fault and especially ignoring the fact that there is a legitimate basis on which Dolphin would be illegal. Blame the laws too, Nintendo shares as much responsibility as the system that says they're right.
