       @stux one way we celebrate this technological developments, on the other hand, it seems disastrous to humanity and human welfare.I don't see this stopping. it's like an eye opener.

       @stux had the same with my last job. But that would have happened without COVID also. HR are in a different part of the country, four hours drive away and my boss was based in Chicago who also works from home as we didn't have a Chicago office. I haven't had a local boss or HR in eight or more years.

       @stux *sigh* so, not only are they sacked because of mismanagement and execs not reading the room, they get fired with zero emotional impact on the managers that keep their jobs 😖

       @stux If people were hired virtually and work virtually, I think it’s not unreasonable that they might be laid off virtually.For people who have to commute to work, I think the courtesy of a face-to-face is expected.

       I was laid off over a decade ago from a remote position. Honestly, I would have preferred the layoff to have been remote instead of driving 30 miles for a meeting and then 30 miles back home.@stux
