@GoodBoyUV i guess if russia disappeared tomorrow it would set up a rivalry in europe between an EU-oriented bloc and an atlanticist-oriented bloc, with a bidding war to determine where the little guys would go. i've always thought of NATO as a way to keep european military strength neutralized, but i guess without russia they would have to spend money on economic aid rather than defraying military expenditures. i dont think the europeans would ever take china as a serious military threat.

@didymus @MisterLister Correct- I do believe that America genuinely doesn't want to destroy Russia though, that's propaganda, without Russia there to counterbalance Western Europe they would then become the leading powers in Eurasia rather than a US occupied Europe. You can see an example of this with the economic sanctions and military aid from the US, they go hard but not TOO hard because they don't want Russia to collapse or have nothing left to lose by it's oil and gas export completely shutting down, despite propaganda claims that NATO is at 'total war' with Russia.

Yes, America plays up Russia and China as threats because they want to justify themselves to their people and to Europe but they are also actually competing with those countries for economic hegemony right now. If the US crushed Russia and China, yeah Europe wouldn't have nearly as much reason to be in a defence alliance with the US, but the US would also be the dominant power in the globe again lol. France is already extremely politically independent (less so with Macron who represents international finance), and they are half of the core of Europe, with Germany.The optimal scenario is basically what I think is going to happen anyway: America weakens and Europe rises, NATO expends itself fighting Russia, Russia stays competitive with ZOG but contained and unable to expand west past Ukraine, nationalism gains strength and eventually takes over within our various countries.

NATO countries have a mutual defense pact, but their primary locus of action is in getting and distributing energy sources. So, defeating Russia in this instance is taking control over their energy sector. Not likely. Or rendering it irrelevant through something like the Qatar-Turkey pipeline. Also not looking great currently, with MBS making nice with Russia.
