@dave For the record: Russia is not and has never been in any hurry. Time is on their side. NATO currently cannot physically meet Ukrainian demand for materiel, NATO economies are on the precipice, the USA is in an extremely precarious situation. Best case scenario is deliveries start to match demand sometime in 2025 or 2026. I think this is extremely unlikely but that's the optimistic timetable.In the meantime, 50k Wagner mercenaries (probably about half ex-cons) took 20% casualties to dislodge the cream of the Ukrainian army from their chosen battlespace, at the cost of tens of thousands of irrecoverable losses on the losing side, not to mention the damage to morale (Ukrainian battalion commander just got fragged on video) and materiel. The regular Russian Army, meanwhile, is unscathed.

The border shouldve had bomber on patrol in the early parts of this war but poland wouldve pitched a fit along with nato and i think putin was worried about it. Almost all the AD they got came from the west because their planes and lots of the AD they had got kaliberd. They wouldnt shut up about the stingers coming in. I believe they've spooled up armor production to the point where they can manufacture around 100 T-90s and 50 BMP-3s a month as of this year. Been doing a lot of new manufacture of missiles and bombs as well.

It allows time for zog to put together a "peacekeeping" operation to occupy Western Ukraine.Attempts at the naval base in the Crimea, and ops against Russian ships on the Black Sea make it necessary for Russia to deny Ukraine access to the Black Sea. I didnt realize they were so far behind the US in bomb tech. Big issue for the US as now the ruskies seem to be fixing this issue and working with iran who have developed such systems. Weve had them since nam so its crazy to me that russia just said fuck it and never even tried. By all accounts precision guided bombs are pretty cheap. I know they have good electro optical systems and laser guided missles but they apparently just said fuck it in regards too bombs.
