@paradroyd @ne1for23 @danjmcs When most think of The Smiths they think of Morrissey, but they were so much more. Marr doesn't get the credit he deserves, IMO, as a guitar player. He's near the top of the list in my book. And the rhythm section, especially Rourke, was the best in the era. All their albums are great, but The Queen Is Dead is my favorite.

@paradroyd morrissey's favourite band was the 'new york dolls'. he was president of their fan club (literally). they sound nothing like the smiths. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_York_Dolls
